Central Truth

If we Christians allow God to work in our life there is no way we can fail. Jesus made it crystal clear that when we put our life, problems, or situations in his hands, "EVERYTHING; ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE."

Reflections

I wish I could turn back the hands of time!  This past year I hit the BIG 50.  When you arrive at this number it seems like someone finally turns on the light and says 'HEY, YOU ARE GETTING OLD AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH 50 YEARS?’  Those are the questions I keep pondering in my mind everyday.  I think about all of the mistakes, all of the missed opportunities, bad decisions and choices I have made. I asked myself "WHY IN THE WORLD DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO SETTLE DOWN?"  Back in 2004, I was in the hospital because of complications with asthma. I had been to that hospital before and I knew that the nuns come around and pray for you and give you some literature to read. One of the scriptures in that literature was "Jesus looked at them intently and said, 'Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.'" (Mark 10:27)  I was so worried that I wasn't going to get well and that I would leave my young children without a parent. I remembered God speaking to Abraham and telling him that he would have a son. Sara his wife didn't believe God, in fact she laughed. Then God spoke to Sara “Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.'”(Genesis 18:13-14)  After four days in the hospital I was released feeling much better but I learned something that I didn't know about God, He can do anything.  I came to realize that there is nothing too hard for God, if a 99 year old man and his wife, way beyond child bearing age, can have a baby; then it is possible for me to accomplish anything. I CAN MAKE A STRIKE IN LIFE AND IN BOWLING TOO.

Discussion Questions

1.  What is in your life today that seems impossible?
2.  What can you do to change your circumstances and what is it that you cannot do?
3   What are the scriptures saying to you today?
4.  If God is speaking to you today, how will you answer Him and what will you do?
