Central Truth
Jesus Christ is the center of our life.
Reflections
People come to Jesus for many reasons. Some come Christians because they want to receive healing or live a better life. Others come to Jesus because they want to serve Him. Regardless of the reasons, what do we do when we have received whatever we were looking for?
After the crippled beggar was healed, he jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then, he followed Peter and John to the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God (Acts 3:8).
About twenty years ago, we established our residence in the US after having lived in the Congo for more than 20 years. Our American journey was not easy! In the Congo, we were able to testify and share openly our faith with many other Congolese. In the US, it is not the same! Nevertheless, we had to find our way to praise the Lord no matter what, whether we are among American people, or even among other Congolese . Our biggest testimony has been bringing members of our family to the Lord and teaching our kids the way of the Lord, so that they will not depart from it when they become adults (Proverbs 22:6). Will the Lord continue to be the center of our lives? Our answer must be “yes.” Knowing the Lord not only brings healing, but most importantly, it brings salvation (Ephesians 2:8).
